Wow, Mr. King. You’ve done it again with Hearts in Atlantis. A very simple collection of stories made complex by Stephen King’s delicate understanding of emotions, of hearts, and how they got that way.
“Gobless the living, Gobless the dead” is a quote from page 585 (I forgot to indicate that in my sketch.) The last bit of this novel, as all the parts were pulled together, was so full of useful quotes, I had no idea where to start. I can’t urge you enough to read this book – and don’t tell me fiction isn’t true. These hearts are all true.
